Ben earned a starting role at Oregon State in 2011 and was 6-3, 4.66 in 17 games. He had 50 strikeouts in 67.2 innings.
Ben was the Oregon Class 6A Player of the Year in 2010 and led Clackamas High School to the state championship, and was selected in the 15th round of the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Cleveland Indians.
He was the Gatorade Player of the Year, a Louisville Slugger Player of the Year, and an All-American as a senior, and All-League and Pitcher of the Year as a junior and senior.
He was 28-3, with five saves, 342 strikeouts and an 0.87 ERA in his high school career.
